About

“I’m a committed harpist and music pedagogue with more than 25 years of experience in playing and teaching music. I believe that performing and teaching are two inseparable halves of a true musician, and these parts support and nourish each other.”

Dr. Csilla Gulyás’s musical education is rooted in the Kodály tradition. Alongside her principal instrument, the harp, she studied piano and recorder and trained as a choir singer and conductor. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in harp performance and teaching, as well as a Doctor of Liberal Arts degree in Music Performance from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, all with summa cum laude distinction.

As a solo and chamber musician, she has performed at festivals and concerts in Hungary and abroad, with a repertoire ranging from early music and the Classical period to contemporary and crossover works. Her discography includes four albums released by Hungaroton Classics in Europe, with several editions licensed by Sunrise Music in Hong Kong and China. Her recordings include solo harp repertoire as well as collaborations with chamber ensembles and other harpists.

Her work has also taken her into an international educational and professional context. She has presented lectures and workshops on harp pedagogy and the practical application of the Kodály method at the World Harp Congresses in Cardiff and Hong Kong, working with musicians, educators and students from more than 30 countries. Her professional activities combine performance, music education and the development of opportunities for young musicians.
